JJ Duffy is a Los Angeles based film and TV actor, writer, and producer, whose first TV appearance was in a Safeway commercial at the age of 4. As an adult, JJ studied acting and performed and taught Improv comedy theater with Sick Puppies Comedy in Boca Raton, FL.
After 5 years, he transitioned to film and TV and has built a resume of work that includes several commercials, independent films, sketch comedies, web series, and is most notably the star of Gym Shorts, a sitcom style web series, and the co-Lead in The Eccentric World of Baron Styles, a feature length independent thriller/suspense movie.
JJ’s writing includes a multitude of sketches, scripts, and a handful of nationally published blogs. He has produced several sketch comedies, a few commercials, and a successful full length documentary available on Amazon Prime.
JJ is slated to play the supporting Role of Max Pyro, a bi-sexual mafia villain who will stop of nothing to take down the comedic roommate odd-couple duo in the upcoming Comedy feature film, Side Effects.
JJ is producing a comedy short called Committing To Burglary about a burglary duo's botched burglary goes awry when one of them is mistaken for a massage appointment, and they spend their time suspensfully massaging their way out of the situation!
Gym Shorts, the Award winning Micro-Sitcom JJ wrote and stars in will be coming out with its 5th episode after currently expanding the writers room for a more diversified voice.
The Eccentric World of Baron Style, the indie feature length film is now being shown at Film Festivals around the world, and JJ has been nominated for Best Actor for his portrayal of Leonard Rothman, a young businessman who gets manipulated by his powerful boss, in more ways than one.
Acting:
JJ specializes in Physical Comedy, the sleazy guy,, the corporate guy, the gay guy, the quirky Nerd, and enjoys any combination thereof. If you have a dramatic role that requires some comedic nuances, JJ would be delighted to audition for the role.
Writing:
JJ also has runs a independent writers room available to write scenes, shorts, pilots, and feature screenplays if you have an idea that needs to be written.
Producing:
JJ Produces only his own material at this point, but be on the lookout for a non-profit LGBTQ Film Fund whose sole purpose is to help bridge the financial gap of LGBTQ projects that wouldn't otherwise be made. An organization that supports LGBTQ stories in front of AND behind the scenes.
